Corporate membership has an important and unique role within the operation of the BC Museum of Mining. We value our many corporate members because they can give us direct access to information and expertise about the mining industry and its relationship to the environment. We need this connection so that we can stay current with values and trends impacting on the industry itself. Unless we have a comfortable and trusted relationship with industry there is no way we can begin to design our programs and services. A Corporate member's willingness to have a relationship with us means we are able to better achieve our mission.
We recognize and respect that for most corporations being a member of the Museum means they are lending us their names and reputations. In return for this trust we strive to frame and develop mining education and public awareness programs and services that you can identify with and appreciate. We partner with you to achieve your education and awareness goals such as:
- Mining is essential to the social and economic fabric of modern society
- Modern mining is putting into practice positive and innovative commitment to ongoing environmental stewardship, research and remediation
The membership fee that corporate members provide is put to excellent use in the Museum's day-to-day operations. The Museum is a self-sustaining, non-profit organization that aims to operate deficit-free. It has no base annual operating revenues; we earn our revenue primarily through admissions and some project grants. Membership support is critical to our overall success. |
