The BC Museum of Mining is proud to have the designation of being a National Historic Site. With this title comes the responsibility of offering a world-class experience and we pride ourselves at being able to offer this even when filming is occurring on site. As you get to know Britannia Beach you will discover that the community’s assets support all genres of filming. The fantastic giant Mill building and underground tunnel are favorites with directors of science fiction and horror films. Equally as popular is our ‘village’ of unoccupied historic buildings, suitable for period dramas and other types of films.

Over 50 feature films and dozens of popular TV series have been filmed here, including: Scooby Two, Insomnia, MacGyver, Double Jeopardy, Highlander, 21 Jump Street, Outer Limits, Were No Angels, Smallville, The X Files, Dark Angel, Millenium, John Doe, Jeremiah, Alone In The Dark, Free Willey III, Air Bud, Kingdom Hospital, Dead Zone, Intersection, Hope Island, Star Gate, Are We There Yet and more.
