HISTORY | THE ANACONDA PHOTO COLLECTION
In the short period of Anaconda Mines (1967 – 1974) Britannia experienced fire, flood, centennial celebrations, community events and the most dramatic of all, the 'last shift'. In 1967 the highway and railway had only been around for 10 years. No longer only accessible by water, the changes that these two links with Vancouver and beyond brought were just beginning to be understood. These images offer just a glimpse into the vitality and community pride at Britannia Beach. We do not have all of the details about the images. If you can provide any information to the Museum we would be pleased to hear from you.
