THE FUTURE | REHABILITATION OF THE MILL
The Historic Mill, centerpiece of the BC Museum of Mining and a National Historic Site, is being given a much-needed face-lift. The dignity of the Mill will be restored with the re-roofing and re-cladding of the exterior and the replacing of 18,792 windowpanes, honouring its role in the foundation of our British Columbian and Canadian Heritage.
In addition to our private/public fundraising efforts, the federal and provincial governments each contributed $1 million for the project with the private sector including TeckCominco, Hunter-Dickinson, and the Halbauer family contributing in total $1 million.
Service partners to both the Mill Rehabilitation and Britannia Project, AMEC will provide Project Management. Completing the team will be architects Toby Russell Buckwell and the structural engineering company CWMM, along with staff from the BC Museum of Mining.
